White Knight Clarksburg Viognier is a stallion among Viogniers. Its rich golden color is reminiscent of a wheat field in late fall. Aromas of honeysuckle and orange blossom abound as you behold the wine, followed by a buxom but well-proportioned palate boasting medium acidity and a honeycomb-lemon finish. A lingering sense of mulling spices and toasty green tea leave your senses desiring more.
Surrounded by the cooling waterways of the Sacramento River Delta and San Francisco Bay, the Clarksburg Winegrowing Appellation is fast earning a reputation for growing lovely Viognier grapes. Its deep sandy loam and clay soils and naturally high water table provide uncommonly rich ground to grow in. Wilson Vineyards has consistently delivered us high quality Viognier. Mostly tank fermented for crispy freshness, with a hint of French Oak for deep richness, we know you’ll enjoy this wine again and again.
The wine’s highly aromatic and fruit forward nature make it enjoyable year round. Pair it nicely with Sonoma Chicken Salad, fresh Pumpkin Ravioli, Charcuterie and fresh soft cheeses, braised leek and potato soup, Yellowtail Sashimi, or chocolate chip cookies with a generous helping of crushed macadamia nuts.
