From vineyards that date to 993 A.D. and a family that dates to 1440 is this classically styled wine made from Carignan and Grenache grapevines of over 50 years old, which contribute rich and smooth tannins, mineral flavors and finesse. This wine needs some airation to bloom, but the reward is worth waiting. Intense notes of black berries and sweet spices. Rich palate of black fruit and fig is balanced greatly with the lively acidity. In fact, the producer liked this wine so much, they named it after his own name George Puig.
Food Pairing: Grilled meat, rustic provincial dishes, tomato sauce.
