Grape: 100% Carignano
Region: Italy> Sardinia> Cagliari> Sulcis
Notes: Sustainable Farming
The name Mesa (dinner table) reflects Gavino Sanna’s dream of returning home to Sardinia after a renowned career in advertising. Providing food (wine) for the family of the land and establishing Sulcis as a source of great wine. The winery follows the principle of natural gravity-flow; therefore you’ll find no hydraulic pumps here. Carignano is planted in sand-rich soils closest to the southwest coast subjected to the cool mistral winds that keeps many insects and mildew at bay. The wine shows deep, dark violet color with aromas of evergreen and volcanic mineral. The palate speaks of mulberry, tobacco, volcanic mineral, and a hint of evergreen. Good acid/alcohol balance with lightly gripping tannins.
