Tequila: Similar to Mezcal but Tequila can only be made with blue Agave. It can be aged in oak barrel. Reposado’s need a minimum of of 2 months, but less than a year. Anejo’s need a minimum of 8 months, but less than three years.
Notes: Master distillers, Eduardo and Jaime Orendain are fifth-generation tequila producer from the town of Tequila. Eduardo is the current president of the National Chamber for the Tequila Industry (CNIT). The El Lano distilery dates back to the early 1900’s and Arette Tequila is all estate made with 100% Agave from the lowlands. The lowland Agave produces Tequila’s that exhibit complexity defined with more mineral, and herbal qualities. A distilled beverage made exclusively from the blue Agave plant. Primarily in the area around the city of Tequila and near the origin of its character.
